Privacy
Your practice belongs to you.

The short version
Maahir is designed without advertising, public profiles, or the sale of personal data. Quran-practice data is stored on your device first. Private iCloud sync is planned, but it is not enabled in version 0.3.0.
What Maahir stores
Maahir stores the Plans you create, completed-session records, mistake counts, Quran quality assessments, reading position, and app preferences needed to provide the app. Maahir does not define what your mistakes mean.
iCloud
Before iCloud sync ships, it must pass two-device replay, account-change, export, and deletion tests. When enabled in a future qualified build, Apple’s CloudKit service will hold the synced copy in your private CloudKit database within your iCloud account. Maahir will remain usable locally.
Internal recitation pilot
Follow my recitation is an internal, disabled-by-default engineering pilot while physical-device safety and accessibility testing continues. Internal builds request microphone and speech-recognition permission so they can compare live recognition with the expected Quran passage. Raw audio is processed ephemerally and is not saved to Maahir’s database, iCloud, widgets, or diagnostics. Maahir prefers on-device recognition when Apple supports it. Otherwise, live speech data may be sent to Apple’s speech-recognition service and is subject to Apple’s privacy practices. The build shows which mode is active. Denying or revoking either permission leaves the ordinary reader and manual logging available.
Tracking and advertising
Maahir does not use cross-app advertising identifiers, sell your data, or build an advertising profile from your Quran practice.
Control and deletion
Version 0.3.0 can export session history, export and restore a complete local backup, and erase local Maahir data from Settings. Because iCloud sync is not yet enabled, there is no synced Maahir copy to remove. Synced export and deletion will remain release gates before iCloud is offered.
